US Senate Candidate Stace Nelson was on the Greg Belfrage Show on KELO Radio from Sioux Falls, SD this morning. As the State Legislature begins its 2014 Session, Rep. Nelson assured Greg that he would be opposing Common Core and helping keep education decisions at the local level and with parents. Visit KELO to listen to his comments.
On Thursday, Jan. 2nd, Stace was honored to speak to the “Tea Party” group South Dakota Citizens for Liberty in Rapid City. The place was packed with supporters, and organizers commented this was the biggest attendance they had had in a few years. Many in attendance were eager to not only sign Stace’s nominating petition (for which he started gathering signatures Jan. 1), but quite a few took home their own petitions and other materials to help gather signatures themselves. Other individuals opened their wallets to help the campaign financially. In all, Stace knows he can count on support from many of the active, dedicated, and truly conservative Republicans in the Black Hills area.

Stace Nelson is working to rally votes for the 2014 Republican Primary Election in June. He’s running for Tim Johnson’s Senate seat, but he has competition.
Stace Nelson said he’s quickly closing the gap between him and opponent Mike Rounds. Nelson conducted internal polls and said he’s about 14 percent behind Rounds, and that was two months ago. Nelson said when Rounds was in office he increased spending between 53 and 64 percent and he says we can’t do that again.
“We cannot afford to keep sending these politicians to DC that keep giving us lip service, we actually have to have an actual public servant that’s willing to work for us,” said Nelson.
Nelson said so far his campaigning is going well. He has traveled throughout the state and he said he’s gained many supporters. Part way through the first quarter he said he has 400 donors.
